"Spooky Trails 2025"

July 14th-18th at Camp Lakamaga

Come enjoy a spooky week of Halloween games and activities, spooky crafts, ghost stories, and some trick or treating fun at our Spooky Trails Camp! We are a volunteer run Girl Scout Day Camp for the Forest Lake Service Unit Girl Scouts.

CAMPER INFORMATION

Camper registration is OPENING 2/22/25! Forms will be available to submit online under the REGISTRATION tab. Every camper needs a registration form AND health history form submitted.

Campers are girls entering grades Kindergarten-7th Grade in the fall of 2025. Girls are split into groups based on their grade level. This is not a troop camp and girls are not split up by Girl Scout troops. You may sign up with 1 buddy who you will be guaranteed to be partnered with at camp (as long as you are in the same grade.)

Busing is available at Wyoming Elementary and Forest Lake High School. Schedules will be sent out one week prior to camp. Please indicate on the form if you would like bus transportation for your child.

Each day,  campers arrive at camp and enjoy a variety of activities such as flag ceremony, arts and crafts, water games, singing camp songs, boating, swimming, archery, cooking their own meals over a fire, making new friends, fun games, and other fun activities while with a group of girls their own age/girl scout level.

Camp starts at 9:00am and runs until 4:00pm Monday-Friday. Lunch and snacks are provided and included with your registration fee. Camp is open to registered Girl Scouts ages kindergarten-going into 7th grade in the fall of 2025. Non-Members can register for an additional $25 fee.

Space for Caddies at camp is limited. It is highly encouraged that you register early.

We are in search of Caddies who are responsible, committed, and ready to help out at camp. Caddies will be responsible for a group of girls throughout the week. Responsibilities include: assisting girls with meal prep, fire building, clean up, and other unit duties to help allow the unit to run smoothly, interacting with Leaders to plan the days schedule, working with other Caddies in a group, engaging campers in games and songs, helping groups to stay focused and on time for activities throughout the week, coming to camp with a positive attitude and ready to help whenever, and treating all campers, caddies, and leaders with respect. We understand that camp is also a fun time to have with your friends and peers, but we also want you to recognize that when you are with the campers each day- your focus is to be on them to ensure they have a great week at camp. Cell phones, tablets, etc., will not be permitted at camp except during breaks to allow your focus to be on the girls. Each caddie will receive a break every day where they can socialize with their friends, and also at special activities at all overnights/caddie events.

ADULT VOLUNTEERS INFORMATION

Adult Volunteers are needed to be unit leaders for the week!

The Forest Lake Service Unit Day Camp is run completely by volunteers each year. Kathy and Amelia have been directing this week of camp together since 2008. (We are also volunteers!) We cannot make this camp a success without committed volunteers. Please consider volunteering as a unit leader.. we make it easy for you, and take care of all the big stuff before you get here! When you volunteer FULL TIME at camp, you will receive $150 off a camper’s registration fee! If this is your second year or more volunteering with us full time, you will save the remaining camper fee, and your camper will come for free! All the more reason to come back! Please contact Amelia or Kathy if you have any questions about volunteering opportunities. From us and the girls- THANK YOU!

Volunteers can register online beginning 2/22/25.

*If you have a son interested in attending camp with you as a volunteer, please add them to your volunteer form and complete a health history for them. We do have a boys unit at camp (all ages combined) for only full time volunteer's sons that week. The cost is $210 for boys.

You will be assigned a spot at camp and will be notified where you will be before camp starts along with your responsibilities for that position. Camp is just as fun for the volunteers as the kids! Please indicate on the form if you would like to be in a unit WITH your camper for the week, or if you are flexible to be wherever needed.

THANK YOU!
